Our iExperience Days look at different elements of the curriculum in a creative way and they both use and improve mathematics and problem solving skills. iApprentice focuses heavily on business, enterprise and creativity; whilst iRace focuses more on the science of physics. iRace runs as a full day course and iApprentice can be specified to run between 1 to 5 days. These iExperience Days are excellent as they allow students to learn and develop while doing an activity that keeps them interested and engaged.
iApprentice | |
| Age: 8yrs+ | Group size: 10-30 Requirement: Classroom | After school club: No | Do you teach the next Alan Sugar or Duncan Bannatyne? iApprentice takes them through the process of creating a product to take to market, looking at target markets and marketing material to reach the demographic. In teams, they will look at budgeting, promotion and presenting business skills. Using iPads, they will research and design their product, create a digital business plan and a TV advert or poster campaign. At the end of the day each group will present their business to the class and the dragons to see who gets hired. |
iRace | |
| Age: 8yrs+ | Group size: 10-30 Requirement: Classroom | After school club: No | Experience the thrill of a F1 team with iRace. This activity gives students a chance to look into the workings of an F1 team, devise race strategies, find the best racing lines and compete against other teams. Races are not won by drivers alone but by the quality of the team behind them. Students will learn valuable lessons in teamwork, communication, physics and planning and will achieve measurable results. This experience mixes fun racing theory with practical mathematics and intense strategy in a context that many students are already familiar with. |
