Frizinghall Primary 2019 Summer Holiday Club

Hi my name’s Claire, over the past week I’ve been at Frizinghall Primary School as support for a Holiday Club we’ve been running. This was my first time meeting the participants, I’d never been to the school and I was excited to meet the young people, in addition to the Junior Jam staff I’d be working with over the course of the week. 

To get the young people warmed up we kick off with a game of dodgeball,  the children simply couldn’t get enough of dodgeball. The comradery and teamwork during dodgeball set the tone for the rest of the week. Whether the young people were participating in our computing session by creating songs together during iJam, or putting together a movie trailer. The pupils at Frizinghall Primary school were a pleasure to deliver our holiday club to from the offset.

Football with coach Lee ‘the don’ C was a major part of the Holiday club also. This was enjoyed by both the girls and the boys. The young people told us they didn’t have a school team. So during lunch hour every day we’d play matches in the playground. This really brought the participants out their shell, and let them showcase their talents not only to us, but their peers also.
