Developing Oracy Across the Curriculum Strong communication skills are essential for success both in school and beyond.
Oracy is embedded throughout every Junior Jam lesson, providing pupils with regular opportunities to speak, listen, collaborate, present and perform.
Whether pupils are discussing musical ideas, performing in front of their peers, speaking in French or Spanish, presenting a computing project or leading a team activity in PE, they are continually developing the confidence and communication skills needed for lifelong success.
Our approach to Oracy helps pupils:
-
Become confident communicators
-
Develop rich subject-specific vocabulary
-
Improve speaking and listening skills
-
Build self-confidence
-
Strengthen critical thinking
-
Enhance collaboration and teamwork
These skills support learning across the wider curriculum while contributing to pupils' personal development and future aspirations.
