SMART PPA Carousel

The most popular, unique package Junior Jam offer is our SMART PPA Carousel. Here three specialist staff teach at the same time over a full day, morning or afternoon, working with three classes in the morning and three classes in the afternoon if we are doing a full day. The classes rotate around the three instructors, so the children receive lessons in three specialist subjects.

This is an effective way of delivering PPA Cover, as a single form entry school can fulfil their PPA Cover requirement in a single day.
Larger schools often book multiple days allowing teachers to take their PPA at the same time & collaborate. For example we work closely with a large number of school within Cidari Multi Academy Trust. From multiple afternoons to multiple full days using SMART PPA Carousels allows school to work in a cohesive way throughout the MAT.

School Portal

What sets Junior Jam apart isn’t just our curriculum - it’s our unique online portal. Once your school has confirmed, you receive two logins: a full-access user and a restricted-access user, giving flexibility in sharing information across your team. Full access lets you view DBS checks, instructor vetting, payment schedules, and order confirmations. Both accounts provide all documents and resources your staff need to follow the curriculum, which can be viewed online, downloaded, or printed. Rationales, Intent, Implement, and Impact statements are clearly displayed. The portal also includes Actual Progression Maps, showing what pupils have completed and what’s coming next. Your dynamic portal keeps track of everything throughout the year as well as allowing multi-year users to view past resources to track progression over time.

We will then put a plan and timetable together for you. We will work with you to make any adjustments to the plan if they are needed, and once finalised we issue you with your confirmation and planning documents. We can even modify the traditional SMART PPA carousel model to accommodate different numbers of classes if required.

SMART PPA Carousel – Music, Computing and Spanish

We have been working with Junior Jam for almost one year (Jan ‘23 we began our journey). They are very reliable, there has only been one staff absence in the time we have been working together and a substitute was sent.

Communication is great, emails are answered promptly and professionally. Calls are answered and nothing is ever too much trouble; JJ are happy to take on board feedback from our subject leaders following any monitoring. The tutors that teach our pupils are professional, knowledgeable and have high expectations. We began our JJ journey when we needed to 'employ' a new member of staff to cover PPA, we took this as an opportunity to try something new and exciting. Junior Jam provide high quality teaching and learning experiences in three subjects (that often class teachers aren't as confident with) across our school - the children love these lessons! Teachers and school leaders feel confident that their pupils are receiving high quality provision.
