Two Vans, 361 Miles & One Very Busy Year Ahead!

Well its that time of year again when I scoot down to our London meeting point followed shortly by the Coventry length to do our yearly equipment hand over! Two vans, 361 Miles covered in two days and a very hot summer day waiting for me on both ends! Why do I do it? For me it is always a blast to catch up with old colleagues and see what they have been up to over the summer. I should point out I mean old in the sense they have been with Junior Jam for a while, not their actual age! I also get to see all the new faces beaming and ready to get stuck into the new academic year!

We have had boxes scattered about all over the car parks of two different hotels and staff grabbing their own equipment all in a neat and orderly fashion. At least that what it seemed like, thankfully no one has left with a stray box or iPad that didn’t belong to them so overall I call that a success! If you are reading this though and wondering why you have two animation boxes and not just one, might be a good idea to drop an email to the office with that question. In fact, you can email the office about any questions you have to do with Junior Jam! Both our staff and our schools! We are in for a busy year!

Its going to be very busy for me. Junior Jam has seen an explosion of schools in the West Midlands area and as the Midlands Manager it is my job to go to all these different schools and see our wonderful staff in lessons teaching their area of expertise. I have also set myself a bit of a challenge this year, for those who have worked with me in the past will know I am not musically inclined at all, however THIS is the year I am going to change that, I have made it my mission to learn piano. Strangely enough it was one of our Junior Jam music teachers down in London that actually inspired me to do so. Seeing them play in one of the schools really awoke something in me and now I’m 8 weeks into my own piano meddling. So if you are a music teacher in the West Midlands, I shall be dropping by to get some tips and tricks! Cant wait to see you all!

Shaun

Midlands Manager
