Why our Schools LOVE iMedia

Why our Schools LOVE iMedia

Last Updated: 05 Aug, 2019

Junior Jam specialise in lots of different subjects but our most popular by far is iMedia. If you’ve not heard of iMedia before, it’s our name for Computing PPA Cover. It’s unsurprising to see why children love our iMedia courses as they are so varied and creative. We hand pick every app on the iPads we supply to make sure they have the perfect combination of fun mixed with Educational value.

My personal goal is to find the apps that are so engaging that the children don’t realise they’re actually learning. While our apps are designed for children of a primary school age, it’s not uncommon at all to find our Workshop leaders “testing” the apps on their breaks and at home.

Classes always look forward to their iMedia PPA cover lessons and our workshop leaders are often greeted with a cheer, either when entering the classroom or when walking through the school. We try not to let that go to our heads too much though!

Our main 6 topics are Music Production, Programming, Design, Animation, Broadcasting and Film. By the end of a classes 1st academic year with Junior Jam classes will have composed and produced an Amazing song, coded their own game, designed and created their own comic book and ad campaign, written and filmed their own Stop motion Animation, scripted and recorded their own Radio show and even filmed a trailer for the next big blockbuster film! And I’m sure you’ll agree, that for a classroom environment, those are pretty amazing lessons to be involved with!

Without realising, students will be learning valuable ICT skills, building confidence while learning, and covering the whole ICT curriculum (and a bit more).

When explaining all about our iMedia PPA Cover to potential new schools or new Junior Jam employees, the line I hear most is ‘I wish we had this when I was at School’. If Adults react so positively, imagine how excited our classes are about iMedia!

To find out more about iMedia go to the computing tab on our website https://www.juniorjam.co.uk/computing-ppa-cover/ or contact us on 01274 680576 to book your PPA Cover and take the first steps in turning your classes into ICT superstars.
